Christian Parents are tired of the Marxist worldview seen in schools

Religious parents are removing their children from the school system worldwide as according to them, their values are not well represented, as they do not see their values well represented.

Even though ‘The Department for Education’ has reasoned that people have opted for home education due to ‘lost faith’ in the Government’s approach to education and safety in the pandemic, it is evident that some, such as John Williams, have gained this distrust through the transformed curriculums that come from an ‘agressive, secular, marxist worldview being peddled in schools', as he says.

Mr Williams has only recently started homeschooling his children.

Homeschooling isn’t without its challenges. Ed Van Schalkwyk’s wife stays at home to homeschool their children ‘due to the ideologies promoted in secular schools’, this makes things difficult, he says, as they are living off one income.

Jay Knable, a single father from Clifton Park, New York, uses ABEKA. Abeka was created by Dr Arlin Horton and his wife. When they had started a Christian school, they encountered a problem. According to them, 'Textbooks and curriculum based on biblical educational philosophy were starting to disappear.’

Abeka states on their website that by choosing them, ‘you’re not risking your child’s education on something unproven.’ Knable said the curriculum was accessible, but he wasn’t ‘married to it.’

Therefore, Knable is no stranger to the plights of homeschooling, he said. ‘It’s known to be a heavy workload.’

However, the benefits of homeschooling benefit the cons, as he said. ‘I wanted to homeschool to spend more time with my daughter … now; in New York, they mandated vaccinations … it was two years ago …now, you can’t have a religious exemption.’

‘They’re in their formative years … they’re teaching a secular world view….’

Parents like Mr Knable do not feel comfortable with their children being given vaccines. They fear vaccine mandates and social exclusion due to not being vaccinated.

Sarah Mueller, the creator of ‘Decluttering school’, which is a website dedicated to helping people be organised and to declutter their homes effectively, used to homeschool her children before enrolling them into public school.

Mueller admits to being overwhelmed with teaching four different grades and noticed the her children were tired of being taught by their parents.

Mrs Mueller was motivated to transfer her children to public schools due to the lack of sufficient socialisation. She said that even though the children were busy with various classes and church, ‘it wasn’t the same as seeing your friends every day.’
