A BCU student voice candidate aims to create a new website community that improves the interconnectivity and encourages greater diversity between students.

“BCU is really diverse, so I want to make sure that no matter what race, gender, belief etc., we all feel included and think of BCU as our safe space.”

Veronica Gonzalez is a 20-year-old bilingual law student who loves to learn about new cultures. Her hobbies are karate, drawing and reading. She describes herself as a very sociable person who loves to make new friends. She enjoys offering advice and help when needed. She views herself as a very determined individual who loves to lead and try new things. Gonzalez stated, “I went through teams alphabetically and sent posters of my campaign to everyone I could find. Also, I do not back down from challenges. I am a perfectionist, so when I have to get something done, I will not be calm until I have achieved it to the best of my ability.”

Gonzalez has a goal of creating a portal that is similarly designed to moodle, accessed by website and mobiles so students from all campuses can interact with the Student Union team. Ms Gonzalez said, “I want to improve the communication between the student voice team and the students' communication is key when representing others, so if we don't have good communication, we can't know the ideas.” She said that to make her goals a reality, she will have to work with the “other office executives and some wonderful programs which BCU has, like the step-up scheme. I will also use BCU contact to make sure that the goals are achieved.”
